REPORT ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SLGSM REMOTE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
The construct of power effectiveness or of power consumption optimization has now become an essential concern all over the world.
The increase of power effectiveness has a major contribution to the power supply safety, lasting development of competition, saving primary energy resources.
The improvement of power effectiveness is one of the most important strategic objectives for our country.
Economic agents and public institutions alike must face new challenges and find solutions to significantly increase productivity and decrease operating costs and energy expenses.
Considering Law No. 199/2000 regarding the effective use of energy, chapter 6, obligations of energy consumers, Art. 16 states:
- energy consumers must observe the technical regulations and have a power consumption monitoring system.
Therefore, our company has become involved in making decisions that allow the provision of complete energy services.
One of the measures we adopted is the implementation of a remote power management system for some of our major customers, in order to decrease energy costs through:
- avoiding any exceeding of the contractual values.
- highlighting the consumption of reactive energy and other parameters.
- an analysis of the quality of the delivered energy.
In order to achieve this project, our company has launched a firm order to a specialized company, namely S.C. ENERGOBIT S.A., from whom we bought the SLGSM remote offline monitoring and management system.
This includes the following equipment and software:
- Three phase multifunctional electronic counters for active and reactive energy, SL 7000 type, class 0,5 S, manufactured by ACTARIS, France.
- SIEMENS GSM/ MC 35 communication modems.
- Data collection and reporting station with a SLGSM software.
- Energy consumption forecast software.
The above system has been activated by GSM data cards.
The proposed hardware solution measures and displays the following parameters:
- Active, reactive and apparent energy, in three phases and for each phase, imported and exported.
- Three phase power factor, for each phase.
- Instantaneous voltage for each phase.
- Power for each phase.
- Alteration of phases UU, UI and cos φ.
- Frequency.
- Phase order.
- P, Q vector diagram.
This system records up to 8+8 load curves and multiple data concerning the quality of the supplied voltage.
This way we can record and view the following:
- Instantaneous voltage, as well as high and low frequency peaks throughout the invoicing period.
- The instantaneous real and maximum voltage and power values for each phase throughout the invoicing period.
- Three phase power outages and time of outage, their number, start and end time and hour.
The proposed software solution allows the user to view 16 electric values, namely:
- current index.
- retroactive index.
- current load curves (in graphical and table layout).
- retroactive load curves (in graphical and table layout).
- evolution curves recorded every 15 minutes for voltages, currents, cos φ, frequency.
- instantaneous current values every 15 minutes (current, voltage, active energy, reactive energy, frequency, cos φ, power peaks, peak energy consumption, 3-month retroactive invoice indexes, counter, etc.)
The software has other facilities:
- Adding / configuring new or existing counters to or in the data base.
- Customization interface for the counters and data to be read from such counters.
- Graphical and value interface for the counter data.
- Possibility to add up or deduct counter data.
- Possibility for excel exports, by choosing the type of integration.
In the first implementation stage of this remote management system, we selected 5 (five) representative companies from a total of 60 who consume highly profiled energy, where we installed 13 (thirteen) witness counters.
Soon, S.C. TRANSENERGO COM S.A. will be mounting witness counters for other companies in the portfolio, so that at the end we will cover approximately 75% of the power consumers.
By implementing the remote management and monitoring system, our company intends to decrease any imbalances and effectively improve its activities.
